Eat Well and Travel Often
With the year coming to an end, it is time to start thinking about the new countries and travel destinations to explore in 2018.
I hope that maybe my 2017 highlights will inspire you. I know for sure that I will revisit some of these places.
Share your 2017 travel discoveries, favourite countries or cities! I am always looking forward to recommendations.
The Ore Mountains
Trying cross-country skiing for the first time in the magical winter wonderland was certainly not only one of my travel but also sport highlights. Massive thanks go to my friends for their fantastic support, patience and a helping hand when picking me up from a pile of snow.
A short trip to Israel was just what I needed during my first winter in Berlin. Nothing beats the winter blues like glorious sunshine, delicious food and interesting surroundings of Tel Aviv.
Visiting Jerusalem was thrilling and memorable to say the least.
Amazing hiking trails and with stunning views? Oh yes, Saxon Switzerland has it all. I cannot wait to go there again to explore more places and maybe next time round treat myself to some spa treatments. Gold medal goes to my friend Katy for being my hiking buddy!
This beautiful Baltic Sea island is perfect for running, cycling and walking.
One of my favourite travel discoveries. Northern Italy is just beyond beautiful and Lake Como stole my heart.
Style and sophistication at its best – that is what you get in Milan. A fantastic place for a city break.
What a gem! I am really glad I stopped there to explore the old town of Bergamo.
The Harz Mountains
Visiting the Harz Mountains was about taking part in the mighty 51 kilometers hike called Harzquerung. It was an incredible experience and I am glad I got to share it with my friends.
Since 2017 was a year of the 500th anniversary of the Reformation, I decided to visit a town of Martin Luther and see the All Saints’ Church where it is said he has nailed 95 theses to the door.
It is always good to be back in Portugal and even better to discover new places. Porto has been one of my travel highlights without doubt.
Despite living so close to Mallorca for two years I only got a chance to visit this popular island now that I moved to Germany. It was one of my summer highlights and I hope to see more next year. I feel that I only scratched the surface – Mallorca has so much to offer!
If home is where your friends are, then Warsaw is one of my homes. Always a pleasure and a lot of fun.
Mad love for Madrid. No more to add except that I would like to live there.
Not too far away from Spanish capital, Toledo is grand and beautiful and I am glad I finally had a chance to visit it.
Segovia is a city of a jaw-dropping Roman aqueduct and charming old town. Discovering this place is definitely one of the reasons why I love travelling around Spain.
My biggest 2017 trip and a fantastic adventure I could share with my friend Zofia. Thinking about Havana still makes me want to dance. Live music and salsa are simply the best in Cuba.
