Glorious Food in Warsaw
Travelling to Poland is always about many foodie delights and my last trip to Warsaw certainly exceeded my expectations. Why? I was lucky with sunny and warm weather and had a chance to spend some quality time with my friends, who organised a great day out at the breakfast market followed by a cycling trip along the river.
Food Market with friends
Targ Śniadaniowy in Żoliborz, one of Warsaw’s neighbourhoods located on the left bank of the Vistula, brings together picnic atmosphere, live music, fresh produce and amazing food. Local life at its finest!

Spoiled for Choice
Naughty but nice potato pancakes, veggie burgers, stuffed aubergines, some BBQ goodness… You name it! Consider your brunch or lunch sorted as everyone can find something tasty at this breakfast market.
There were also some special treats from Asian, Spanish, Brazilian cuisine available but my heart was set on Polish dumplings. It is not like I can get freshly made pierogi in Barcelona! I was really impressed with a variety of stuffing options so in the end each one of my dumplings was different.

For anyone craving a slice of heaven from the Targ Śniadaniowy at home, there was a choice of
jams and other fruit preserves, as well as traditional bread to go with it. Although stalls with natural juices and homemade lemonades were among the most popular ones due to sunny weather, the desert options won over the foodie crowd without a doubt. We were all spoilt for choice!

Coffee time
I certainly did not mind waiting to order my freshly grind coffee to go with my rhubarb and strawberry meringue pie. Oh yes, it was a park life and food extravaganza with friends followed by some daydreaming on a comfortable blanket under a tree.

Żoliborz, a square on the corner of al. Wojska Polskiego and ul. Śmiała, Saturdays: 8am-4pm.
